AGT Foods is seeking an Extrusion Packaging Operator for our state-of-the-art Extrusion factory in Regina, SK. 

The Extrusion Packaging Operator will set up, calibrate, operate, monitor, and perform basic trouble shooting of extrusion and auxiliary equipment to produce clean, quality products to customer specifications. They will make equipment and system adjustments for the success of the production schedule while maintaining Quality Assurance, Food Safe and Safety Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate extrusion production line equipment.
• Perform all pre-operational checks for the extrusion production line.
• Ensure that all recordkeeping is accurate, complete, and submitted at end of shift.
• Follow up with Extrusion Lead and go over daily responsibilities.
• Maintain hourly sampling, testing, and recordkeeping of products to be within customer specifications.
• Follow proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for equipment and department.
• Ensure that daily/weekly cleaning and sanitization of the extruder department are completed.
• Monitor utilities, controls, and production rates to assure that all systems are operating within specification to produce the target specification.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure that issues during the shift are being resolved and product is meeting customer specifications, escalating as necessary.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure that equipment is repaired in a timely fashion, escalating as necessary.
• Review the requirements for production to identify any raw material or packaging inventory concerns and bring them to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
• Proper disposal of all chemicals.
• Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and all other Safety Regulations required for all tasks.
• Completion of Qualification Card/s for designated area and/or other job position/s that may  be assigned.
• Uphold a quality-conscious and food-safe culture.

Competency Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of the following Qualification Cards: Extrusion Packaging Operator II.
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be competent to operate all required light equipment for the extrusion department.
• Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in a work environment that varies in noise level which is usually low to moderate.  
• You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. 
• Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Work may be performed for all above tasks in cold and/or hot temperatures, and the environment can be dusty.
