AGT Foods Oat Milling GP Inc., a subsidiary of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., is a value-added oat milling facility focused on the production of a variety of products, including oat groats, flours and other milled oat products, for plant-based human food, specialty ingredient and animal feed products.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions at our Aberdeen, SK facility:
Oat Milling Operator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Packaging and storage of products to meet production orders
- Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment
- Setting up production equipment
- Operating forklift in a safe and efficient manner
- Setting up and replenishing various ingredients
- General housekeeping of production area and stocking supplies
- Pulling samples for micro testing
- Observing Good Management Practices and required HAACP procedures
Oat Milling Quality Assurance
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensuring raw material, in-process blends and finished products meet food safety and quality requirements
- Gather product samples within the manufacturing environment
- Conduct inspection and testing on finished product according to specifications
- Analyze product for characteristics such as moisture, weight, water hydration and particle size and apply all test information into the database
- Initiate, communicate and track all product non-conformances to the specification
- Create and release certificates of analysis for all customers upon request
- Collect retained samples and maintain quality & food safety parameters
These are full-time positions and will involve rotational shifts in a continuous operation facility and overtime may be required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work in Canada
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ability to manage a number of tasks in a complex manufacturing plant environment, including strong conceptual, problem solving and communication skills
- Must have the capability to interact effectively at all levels of management
- Demonstrated high degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative and innovation in handling complex technical assignments with minimal supervision
Additional eligibility qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe working environment, including a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety or applicable provincial legislation
- General computer literacy skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Microsoft DAX and communication applications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge and experience in both HACCP and ISO standards would be an asset
